I wanted to introduce myself to you all and give you some information on the Air Capital Parents Club.
My name is Jennifer Mathes and our son is a 4 deg at the Academy. My husband, Brent, and I live near Bartlett, a small town in southeast Kansas where we farm. I work part time as an EMT and also have my own Photography business. We have two other boys. Joshua, will be a senior at KSU and was just married in January to his beautiful wife Caitlin. Our youngest, Joel, will be going into 8th grade and keeps us going with many activities.
I am also the Communication Chairman for the 2019 USAFA Spirit Mission where I have had the pleasure to work with so many wonderful USAFA parents all over the country! When I first heard the "Welcome to the USAFA family", little did I know that they really mean it. There is a real sense of family and community.
I hope that we can continue that tradition with the Air Capital Parents Club. We may be small, but when I tell others what our little group does for our cadets, they are amazed and wished that their bigger Parents organizations did as much for their cadets.
I have found that there is quite a difference between groups and each group decides on what is the direction that they would like to take.
So with that, I am looking to you all for some direction on what you would like to see our group doing or being involved in this next year.
Please send me back some feedback and I will report back to the group!!!
I realize that we are all spread out all over the state, but I have some ideas to allow us to "meet" a bit more without all of those windshield miles!
I am very excited about the upcoming year, welcoming our new cadets, and supporting our cadets!
